Donald Trump has created the multi-national body he calls The Board of Peace in his own image. He is convening it and presiding over it. Trump’s distate for the United Nations is well known. It is quite clear that he wants the maximum freedom of manoeuverability possible. But how will he get around the resistance by China and Russia? And can his Board effectively replace the UN? Will it survive his Presidency? And how will the different and sometimes conflicting interests of regional powers such as Israel, Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia play into this context?
