Giving Veteran Marriages A Fighting Chance With Operation Heal Our Patriots

For many married US veterans, the effects of war last long after deployment. The physical and mental traumas of war can bring a marriage to its breaking point; however, Samaritan’s Purse is committed to addressing the epidemic of crumbling marriages among combat veterans through the Operation Heal Our Patriots marriage enrichment program. Since 2012, Operation Heal Our Patriots has served over 2,000 military couples through its marriage retreat in the scenic mountains of Alaska, where our veteran-focused program blends biblically based marriage classes with fulfilling wilderness experiences. After the retreat, each couple is assigned a regional chaplain to support their marriage with the Gospel continually.
