Chaplains Deploy To Colorado After Catastrophic Floods

admin October 17, 2025

Over 400 families in Colorado were forced to evacuate their homes in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Priscilla and the severe weather that followed. In two days, the region received six inches of rain, causing waterways—including the San Juan River—to reach historic levels.

In the wake of such destruction, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Vallecito and Pagosa Springs to offer emotional and spiritual support to locals who have been displaced or have lost their homes.

“Our hearts go out to the people of southwestern Colorado who are reeling from the devastating floods that swept through their communities last weekend,” said Josh Holland, international director of BG-RRT. “As residents return home and begin the recovery process, our crisis-trained chaplains will be there to offer a listening ear, a prayer, and the hope of Jesus Christ.”

Chaplains will start ministering in this area over the weekend as residents begin returning.

Please pray for families who are facing a long road to recovery. Also ask God to strengthen first responders and chaplains as they care for the communities’ needs.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) was founded by Billy Graham in 1950 and exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministry of Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. BGEA is also a Contributing Publisher to Harbinger’s Daily.
