Chaplains Deploy After Devastating Fire In Switzerland

admin January 6, 2026

A New Year’s Eve celebration turned tragic when a fire broke out at Le Constellation, a nightclub in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The incident killed 40 people and left many more seriously injured.

At the invitation of a local pastor, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) sent crisis-trained chaplains to the area on Jan. 2.

“What unfolded … on New Year’s Eve has left families and loved ones facing sudden and unimaginable loss,” said Josh Holland vice president of BG-RRT Global. “This was meant to be a time of joy and new beginnings but has instead become a season of grief.

“Our chaplains will come alongside those who are hurting—to listen, to pray, and to offer the hope and compassion of Christ when it’s needed most.”

Please pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones and for victims recovering from injuries. Also pray for strength and wisdom as first responders, medical staff, and chaplains serve the Crans-Montana community.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) was founded by Billy Graham in 1950 and exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministry of Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. BGEA is also a Contributing Publisher to Harbinger’s Daily.
