‘Eyewitnesses’ Of War?: Latest X Update Exposes ‘Gazan Influensers’ As Frauds
X, formerly known as Twitter, released an update aimed at boosting transparency on its platform, revealing the country or region from which an account operates. It is a simple change, but one that has already proven fruitful, exposing widespread deception that is fueling global hatred against God’s chosen people.
Dozens of accounts that claim to be “eyewitnesses” of the war in Gaza have turned out to be operating from countries like Pakistan, Poland, the United Kingdom, and even Southeast Asia.
After the feature went live, many pro-Israel accounts began to check on several top “Gaza influencers,” revealing the truth that many had already suspected.
For instance, an account that claimed to be a “Gazan nurse” from Khan Yunis was discovered to be located in Pakistan. Another account of a supposed father of six in Gaza was apparently based in Bangladesh.
It wasn’t just pro-Gaza accounts that were revealed to be fakes. There are tens of thousands of social media profiles claiming to be IDF soldiers with an anti-Israel bent. Once the light was shed on these accounts, they were found to be based in countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, and others.
Here’s my take.
These so-called “citizen journalists” were telling lies to fuel global hatred toward Israel. In reality, they were sitting on their sofas thousands of miles away, deceiving millions about Israel’s just war against Hamas.
What’s even more important is that X says more transparency tools will be rolling out soon.
