Hurricane Melissa strengthens to Category 5, could drop over a foot of rain in Jamaica

Hurricane Melissa is scheduled to make landfall in Jamaica as a major hurricane within the next 24 hours and is expected to dump more than a foot of rain on most of the island nation as the United States looks likely to avoid a direct impact from the storm.
