The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, which was originally supposed to last only several weeks, is now on track to mark its first anniversary later on this month. Although being quite an achievement, it is a fragile one, as the IDF is methodically striking emerging Hezbollah targets and the Beirut government is yet to disarm the Iranian-backed Shiite militia. While President Trump would surely like to add an Israeli-Lebanese peace agreement to his accomplishments, this appears to be more of a remote possibility now than a resumption of hostilities. What exactly are the prospects for progress in this arena?
