A Call Prayer: At The End Of The Day, When Godly Wisdom Leads, We All Benefit

You know, it’s really easy for us to sit back, coffee in hand, and critique our leaders. After all, they work for us, right? But let’s be real—very few of us can truly grasp what it means to carry the enormous weight of leadership—especially when that leadership involves guiding the free world through the challenges of history.

Think about it—George Washington set the course for a brand-new nation. Abraham Lincoln held it together through its darkest hour. Ronald Reagan faced down communism and helped bring about the fall of the Soviet Union.

And yes—Donald Trump stepped into Washington’s political machine and shook things up in ways no one expected. Each of these men, in their time, carried an incredible burden—one that we can’t fully understand from the outside looking in.

Christians Should Pray for Leadership

That’s why, as followers of Jesus, we are commanded to pray for our leaders.

1 Timothy 2:1–2 says, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (NKJV).

Instead of simply offering criticism, let’s lift them up in prayer—asking God to protect them, guide them, and give them the wisdom they need to lead well. Because at the end of the day, when godly wisdom leads, we all benefit.

Yesterday was Presidents’ Day, let it remind us to do just that. Pray for our president. Pray for our nation. And pray that we would continue to be one nation under God!
