After 47 Years Of Iranian Games, Trump Makes Clear: The US Will Not Blink In The Face Of The Mullahs’ Antics
The Iran ceasefire is on “life support.” Those are President Trump’s words after Iran’s regime sent back a response to his proposed deal to end the war. Trump called the response “totally unacceptable” and made clear that he is not going to blink in the face of the mullahs’ antics.
“Very simple. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. Can’t have it,” the President underscored. “And if they did have it, the Middle East would be gone, Israel would be gone, and they’d hit Europe probably next. We’re doing a service to the world.”
“This has gone on for 47 years,” he continued. “Other presidents and leaders of other countries that have the power should have done it, but they didn’t do it… [The Iranian regime thinks] that I’ll get tired of this, or I’ll get bored, or I’ll have some pressure. But there’s no pressure. There’s no pressure at all. We’re going to have a complete victory.”
President Trump knows he has all the leverage.
He is outraged, first and foremost, because Iran’s counterproposal did not even mention its nuclear program. ‘Give us sanctions relief and full control of the Strait of Hormuz,’ they say, ‘and maybe we’ll discuss nukes at a later date.’ You can see why the president said, ‘No thanks.’
This regime has been playing games for 47 years and has strung along seven U.S. presidents before Trump. But the time of reckoning is now at hand. The U.S. and Israeli militaries are on high alert to resume striking Iran.
President Trump will have much to discuss with Xi Jinping during his visit to China later this week. What happens with Iran will have broader global implications. We have already seen how the Iran War has exposed Europe as weak and vulnerable—especially the United Kingdom.
However, just as the Iran ceasefire is on “life support,” so too is the woke, left-wing government of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Starmer’s Labor Party suffered a huge blow this weekend, losing over 1,000 seats in local elections nationwide. It was a massive rebuke of Starmer’s woke pro-Islam policies, and there are now calls for him to step down as Prime Minister.
Despite pressure to resign, Starmer is still hanging on, announcing that he will ban several conservative politicians and commentators from entering Britain for a huge patriotic rally being held in London on May 16th, organized by Tommy Robinson.
“And you’ll see it again on Saturday, at a march designed to confront and intimidate this diverse city and this diverse country,” Starmer asserted. “That is why this Labor government will block far-right agitators from traveling to Britain for that event, because we will not allow people to come to the UK to threaten our communities and spread hate on our streets. This is nothing less than a battle for the soul of our nation.”
Far-right agitators? Starmer has no problem allowing droves of radical Islamists into the UK who openly undermine the country, but he draws the line at conservatives. This left-wing mini-tyrant act is exactly why his party was pummeled at the polls.
But something tells me Starmer won’t learn his lesson.
The UK is a cautionary tale for America. From the war in Iran to Islam on the rise right here at home, the threat to Judeo-Christian Western civilization and values is real and present. As Christians, we need to speak up from an unapologetically Biblical perspective.
