So. Baptist Pastor David Hughey steps down after wife files for divorce


While the Southern Baptist Convention doesn’t have a policy on whether divorce disqualifies a pastor from leadership, David Hughey, lead pastor of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, has chosen to step down after his wife, Louanne, divorced him last month after nearly 40 years of marriage.
